Owls work the night shift

Your books close
while you sleep.

Owwyl connects your bank, your POS and your inbox, and owns the ledger underneath — double-entry, not a rented sync. Overnight it categorises, matches and reconciles, so morning starts with books that are already done.

No card to start. Import from QuickBooks or Xero in one pass.

Posts to your owned ledger.

Every categorised bill lands in your own double-entry ledger as a draft, awaiting one click. You stay in control.

Double-entry, enforced in the database

Reads invoices from your inbox.

Gmail or Outlook. Owwyl opens the PDF, pulls the line items, and matches them to the transaction that paid them.

Read-only access

Live bank feed.

Every account, every card, through Stripe Financial Connections. Transactions arrive in seconds, not overnight batches.

The close runs every night.

Not at month end, when it is already too late to ask anyone what a charge was.

How it works

Four steps, then it runs itself.

  1. 01

    Connect

Link your bank through Stripe Financial Connections and your inbox through Gmail or Outlook. Already on Xero or QuickBooks? Import it — Owwyl takes over the ledger.

  2. 02

    Ingest

Transactions arrive as they clear. Invoices are pulled from email, opened, and cross-referenced against the bank feed that paid them.

  3. 03

    Categorise

Each transaction is coded against your own history. A vendor never seen before, or an amount outside its pattern, is flagged instead of guessed.

  4. 04

    Approve

Entries wait as drafts. One click posts a batch to your owned ledger, and the audit trail keeps who approved what, and when.

Proof

A year of bar books, rebuilt from the bank to the penny.

Owwyl rebuilt a full year of a working bar's books directly from its bank feed and tied them to the December 31 bank statement exactly — after the incumbent accounting tool could not close the year. Every number below is reconciled against source records.
